Why ?

Why ? Why the fuck do these questions , which have so many different answers come to my mind ? What the hell should I strive for ? Peace of mind ? A fatter wallet ? Should I do what my parent's want me to do ? Or should I do what I want to do ? Live peacefully in a picturesque village ? Struggle in a bustling city ? Drink hard water , eat semi poisoned food and breath toxic fumes ? Savour the city life at the cost of my dwindling health ? Or pass my life in perpetual tranquility in some remote corner of the world , while enjoying the pristine Nature ? Should I marry ? Should I not , for the fear of incompatibility ? Should it be out of obeisance or my own will ? Should I try to change this fucked up world ? Or should I just try my damndest to get the best deal out of it ? Should I pray for a female offspring , cause the way women are treated sends shivers down my spine (that bastard DGP, for one) ? Or should I devote to the "worthy cause" of obtaining a son , when the time comes ? Should I measure my success in rupees or in terms of people who care for me ? What will make me happy ? Do I want to be happy , the way this world defines it , or for that matter , even sane ?

It seems as if the only thing I can do , is handle what is on my plate right now , to the best of my abilities . Will everything else fall in place ?

Life is about compromise and balance - you have to find yours...

Struggle to find out what you are in reality. Find out for yourself, not through books or other sources. Find out, without getting entangled in the web of verbal definitions and formulations. Go beyond your concepts and ideas. Be open for discovery.

@Inferno
The one thing I have found out so far is that I am very human , and keen to take the shortest path to material comforts . :(

You need to take a holiday......

But you are right - handle what you have on your plate right now, to the best of your abilities. The rest will fall into place.

Cheers,

I am reminded of the quote that solilo gave in her interview:
"We’re so busy watching out for what’s just ahead of us that we don’t take time to enjoy where we are"... :-) touche?

In this complex and competitive world, take care of what you have in hand and plan for the future considering what is best for you---be it your business, your career, your parents, your friends.
You must do what you think is good for you.We all have only one life.

What a lot of questions. But I think the million dollar question is the one you asked last. 'Will everything fall in place?'

I think we just accept everything, and get used to the new order, so we think things have fallen into place. While in reality, it is we who have changed. Become more hard-hearted. More barbaric. Back to basics, I guess :-(

Happy Nu Year, anyway :-)

I think Kislay we all face these questions sometime, ...more than once, in life.
We can't be happy doing something we do not want to do, there will always remain regret and resentment... why do we want or not want somethings?
Picturesque villages may or may not have less-toxic food (unless it is organically grown)but they do have fresher air. Bigger cities have pollution and better medical facilities.
Health is important. But good health and good life must go together. Many of us would be content to live in a small remote place and only visit bigger cities occasionally to get their quota of big-city-life (if they need that).
Marrying is an option not the goal of one's life, but it's nice to have someone who is always there for you. There is nothing like perfect compatibility - live and let live, don't have too many expectations (unrealistic) and have some non-negotiables... like some things we just can't compromise.
Each one of us must try to change this world, if everyone did that we will leave a better world for our children.
But one must get a good deal too... it helps not to take ourselves too seriously, without forgetting we are responsible for our happiness. Mustn't stop living...
Pray for a healthy baby. If it's a girl never let anybody make her feel she is weaker, it's all in the mind. We believe we can, we can. If it's a boy never let him feel he needs to be more equal to be equal.
Do sign the petition against the unbelievably shameless DGP.
Success is happiness. No happiness, no success. There is nothing wrong with finding comfort in financial security. But it's sad if the process of finding this security makes us forget living.
Nobody wants to be unhappy. And happiness is a habit. If one can't have a palace, a mansion should do :) If a movie is missed, a DVD or just hearing the story from a friend is also happiness. And yet somethings one can't compromise.

Love this positive thought...
..."handle what is on my plate right now , to the best of my abilities . Will everything else fall in place ?" That's what I would like to tell myself when in a similar state of mind.

Kislay, these are important questions. Peace of mind is much more important than fatter wallet.Be brave and bold enough to do what YOU want to do.
